When you purchase a timeshare week you are purchasing an exact week in an exact resort. You pay a secretarial transfer fee of approximately R2,100 depending on resort, plus the cost of the week you are purchasing. Thereafter you own the week in perpetuity, until you decide you would like to sell the week or bequeath it in your estate. You will pay an annual levy (also dependent on the resort) and this entitles you to full use of that week at that resort. Should you not wish to use your week in a particular year you can rent it through Quantum Sun or alternatively you can bank the week with RCI/Sunswop and earn points to use at a different resort.
