Sabi is situated 360kms from Johannesburg and is 64kms west of the popular Kruger National Park. The main industry in the Sabi area is forestry and the plantations that surround Sabi form one of the world’s largest man-made forests. Sabi was also famous for many years for its gold mining but today tourism is its second biggest industry.

Sabi is situated 55kms from Nelspruit where there is an international airport. Also closely situated to Sabi is Hazeyview, some 40km away, where there are a number of top class hotels and lodges. Hazeyview is also conveniently placed to the Kruger National Park with the closest entrance being some 20 minutes away.

The Kruger is some 2 million hectars in extent and has an impressive number of species in the form of 336 trees, 49 fish and 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. But the area is not just renowned for the Kruger National Park. Also some of the best scenic views and drives are situated in the Mpumalanga area, which is renowned for its waterfalls, rivers and view sites. Sporting facilities are also available in the many top class resorts that are available such as Sabi River Sun and Country Club which has tennis, squash, five swimming pools, full eighteen hole golf course and its famous hypo pond.
