Hi Everyone,

The year is rolling along and Quantum Sun has been busy with the July season which runs from the 25th of June through to the 16th of July. If you are interested in holidaying during these dates, we do have a few units left but these are mainly four sleepers. Contact us urgently if you need a sunny and warm break in Umhlanga as these are being snapped up.

We have also found that there is a lot of interest with year-end bookings and if you own timeshare which you are not using during that period, contact us asap as one never knows what the situation will be as the year progresses, better you know that your units are rented at a price that you are happy with is great for the peace of mind.

I would like to correct a comment which I made in my newsletter dated the 18th of January 2016 in which week 01 was described as possibly being saved by the fact that private school holidays would be falling into this week (7th to the 14th of January 2017). I did correct this information in my newsletter of the 16th of May but some owners have been phoning and querying why the returns for week 01 in 2017 are so poor.

We were subsequently advised by a number of private schools who had not finalised their back to school dates in January that they will be returning to school during the week 07th to the 14th and this will mean the good returns that week 01 has enjoyed in recent years are not going to happen in 2017. We will obviously do our level best to assist the owners of week 01’s by placing these on our books at a rental which will hopefully attract parties who are not involved with school going children but one has to expect a big drop in the return you have enjoyed of late. We understand some resorts are not even taking week 01’s on their books, which is a slap in the face for the owners who have supported them in the past.

In our newsletter of 16th May we commented on a new exchange company, First Exchange which launched itself recently. This company is affiliated to Club Leisure Group the timeshare point’s organisation.

They recently contacted their client base offering December holidays in the resorts which they represent. We contacted First Exchange and established that basically the accommodation on offer was in the very early part of December in week 49 and a little in week 50. Once again as with the other exchange groups very little if any units become available in the peak times in December from weeks 50 through to in this year week 53. This as in previous years has always proved to be a huge disappointment to parties who have bought points timeshare and who continue to find it extremely difficult to match this with any of their school holiday periods. We are still of the opinion “real time” timeshare or in other words ownership of  weeks/units in good quality resorts is still the top draw of owning timeshare in South Africa. Points ownership gives little or no guarantee of holidaying in peak periods, so if you have children of school going age give points ownership a definite miss.

Once again we would like to re-iterate that affiliated consultants at Tsogo/Southern Sun resorts do not have any exclusive rights to rent or re-sell in the resorts in which they are affiliated. In fact their advice is as we’ve mentioned on a number of occasions restricted to the resort to which they are affiliated and which they represent. This advice is obviously biased toward the resort which they represent and does not necessarily give a good overview of timeshare within the group or industry as a whole.

Quantum Sun continues to give an excellent overview of timeshare in general throughout the country and our ability to rent and re-sell units for clients is in no way biased or questionable. Our 28 years of experience in the industry also positively reflects on the above average rentals and resale returns we achieve.

Finally we would once again appeal to all owners of units in weeks 48 through to week 52 in the following resorts to contact us with regard to renting their units during December. Also all owners of week 52 units will be attracting an additional week 53 either from the 31st of December to the 7th of January (Saturday occupation units) or the 30th of December to the 6th of January (Friday occupation units). The units we are particularly looking to placing on our books are at the Umhlanga Sands, Cabana Beach, Breakers, Beacon Island, Drakensburg Sun, Sabi River Sun and the Peninsula in Cape Town.

Please contact us urgently if you would like an estimate on your returns, which we guarantee will be as good if not better than any of our competitors. Ring us on 031-5614951 or fax us on 031-5614963 or e-mail us on letting@quantumsun.co.za.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
