We are happy to report that the Easter school holiday period was in general successful and that our concern that the units that were entrusted to us would be difficult to rent due to the economic situation prevailing in the country at the moment, proved groundless.
The good news for timeshare owners wishing to rent out their units, is that there appears to be a trend away from holidays outside of the country due to the weak rand that resulted from the finance minister fiasco at the end of 2015.
Many holiday makers appear to have switched their destination from overseas to local with there being an increase in demand for accommodation especially in the Cape Town, Plettenburg Bay and Umhlanga areas. We have also noted an increase in demand for the Drakensburg and Mpumalanga (Kruger Park) area’s.
Enquiries have increased dramatically for year-end holidays in the above areas with many clients securing their accommodation earlier rather than later which could prove to be more expensive as demand grows and availability becomes scarce, thus putting upward pressure on rental prices.
We should however sound a cautionary note to owners of week 01 (2017) which is already proving an extremely difficult week to rent due to the arrival of week 53 this year in all projects commencing on Friday or Saturday occupations. Week 01 has proved in recent years to be an excellent rental week but this year it falls out of almost all school holiday periods and owners who have enjoyed good returns in the recent past are in for a shock as to what is likely to be realised in 2017.
We at Quantum Sun once again would like to re-iterate we offer a complete service to all Tsogo Sun resorts plus the Peninsula in Cape Town and Breakers Umhlanga and would appeal to all owners of timeshare in the July school holidays from the 25th of June through to the 16th of July and also the December holidays from the 10th of December through to the 7th of January 2017 to contact us as soon as possible to enable us to offer your valuable units occurring in these periods for rental, or for resale.
We would also once again like to bring to your attention that personnel at Tsogo Sun resorts continue to attempt to confuse timesharer’s into believing they have exclusive rights to sales and rentals due to being “accredited” agents. Their accreditation gives them NO exclusive rights at a resort and their expressed views can often lead to narrow and biased advice being given to prospective timeshare rental and re-sale owners as their views are confined solely to the resort they are accredited to.
Our recommendation is that one should look at the broader picture when deciding to rent or re-sell and here you will find Quantum Sun are in a position to give unbiased opinions on the timeshare industry as a whole and not give the narrow view often presented by the resort’s accredited personnel.
We look at the bigger picture and are accredited to the timeshare industry in South Africa. Contact us for free and unbiased advice by calling us on 031-5614951 or e-mail us on email@example.com.
